HEATHER MILLOTT

About the Artist:

My name is Heather Millott and I am the artist behind Witch Hollow Primitives. I live in the quaint little historic village of Coal City, Illinois raising 4 beautiful children that make it very difficult to work, but very worthwhile to be here.

Halloween Folk art and Primitives are about preserving the past, showing a genuine warmth in your heart for a time that was not our own.

It is about love for our ancestors and remembering the old ways. When we remember, salvage and hold on to the past we breath new life and respect in appreciating that which was loved long ago. My work is dedicated to my Grandmother Christina Maria and I attribute my passion for art to her.

My style is extreme prim folk-art with a touch of Halloween whimsy. I love old time vintage Halloween postcards of yesteryear and these images are used to create my one of a kind lighted luminaries and mason jars lamps. I love the look of old general store labels and tins and make creations that inspire me from my love of the past. I have worked the craft show circut for over 15 years and have made so many wonderful friends and customers in that time.

When the wonderful opportunity of joining the Halloween artists group presented itself I planted my roots firmly here. They are a constant source of inspiration and encouragement to me and to each other. We are not just friends, we are like a family. I feel very blessed to know each and every one of them.

My work can be found on my website www.witchhollowprimitives.com  I also sell on etsy, ebay and various other venues. I typically can be seen lurking in the corner at fall festivals and craft shows stitching away or painting with acrylics, more so on me then the canvas.
