About the Artist:

Twilight Faerie presents the handcrafted wares of artist and proprietor Michelle Duncan. The offerings include porcelain faeries, faerie wings, costume accessories, Halloween and vintage altered art, decoupage and ornamental objects everything is hand crafted of original design.

As far back as I can remember Halloween and winged things have intrigued me. I found a certain unconventional beauty in the imagery of autumn and Halloween. Equally so, I have had a fascination with the mythology of fairy tales and winged creatures. While other kids were running, skipping and climbing trees, I was content playing with colors and textures and challenging myself to create what was stirring around in my mind. This usually resulted in Halloween or whimsical imagery.

Twilight Faerie combines my love of Halloween, autumn and faeries in the mediums of paper, glitter, tinsel, fabric, silk flowers and porcelain. My offerings are capricious and nostalgic objects drawing inspiration from old storybook illustrations, vintage post cards and a time and world gone by and often left to the wayside of imagination. With each piece, whether it be wearable wings, porcelain faerie or a decoupage tin can I hope to stir a memory of capricious childhood or capture a nostalgic memory.
