About the Artist:

Hello! My name is Sharon Wittke. I was born and raised in rural upstate New York, but now reside with my husband and five dogs in rural downstate Illinois.

I am a self-taught artist, and have been painting decorative folk art for about seven years. My focus for the past two years has been on Halloween folk art.

As with many decorative artists, I paint on a variety of surfaces, both vintage and new. I particularly enjoy painting "trick-or-treat" wooden bowls, but also like to decorate trays, lamps, clocks, plates, boxes, and those odd pieces of vintage chalkware found at local antique shops.
