A Haunted Hey Diddle!
Ol' Tom played his fiddle
Beneath the Man in the Moon.

The little mouse laughed
To see such fine craft
And the Witches all danced
To the tune!

(This painting SOLD on etsy.com).

Halloween is upon us! You can tell weeks in advance by going into almost any retail store - costumes, candy and decorations abound - all of which are designed to scare up some fun and get us in the mood!

Many folks prefer to create their own costumes and decor rather than purchase ready-made. To that end, here are a few ideas to make your All Hallows Eve a spooktacular success without breaking the bank.

Make your own Blood!
Here’s a proven recipe for making realistic (though harmless!) blood for your next party. Just mix it all together and you have one cup of fine Halloween blood!

1 cup corn syrup
1 tbsp water
2 tbsp red food coloring
1 tsp yellow food coloring

And little goblins will gobble this easy and healthy snack...

Peanut Butter Snack Mix

3 T honey
2 T butter
3 T peanut butter
2 Cups mini-pretzels
4 Cups Chex cereal
1/2 C dry-roasted peanuts

1. Preheat oven to 175 degrees
2. Mix honey, butter and peanut butter in microwave-safe bowl and heat until smooth
3. Mix remaining ingredients and toss to coat. Spread on baking sheet and bake for about 1 1/2 hours. Makes 6 cups. Store in refrigerator.

This recipe has fiber and monounsaturated fats, making for a heart-healthy alternative to fatty potato chips. Serve to trick-or-treaters or as a party food.

Halloween Artists are trying out Etsy!
Many of our artists are offering their work on a new venue other than ebay - Etsy.com. You can do a search for Halloween art, HA31 or by the artist's name or store. For instance, search by user name GrimPrim to find items by artist D. A. Sweigart. Some other artists displaying their wares on etsy.com are PunkinDoodleBoo and Stipply Irresistible and many others. Be sure to check it out - you may find some better deals than you might get through ebay auctions!

Halloween Art Raffle in the works!
A monthly raffle beginning this month will offer collectors the opportunity to acquire an original work of art by one of our Halloween artists for a steal! Namely, just two dollars!

Everyone who donates at least $2.00 during the month will be entered into a drawing for the chance to win artwork worth much more! The value will vary each month, but each prize will be valued at $20 - $200 - so take a chance and donate your $2 - you just may find yourself the winner of a wonderful piece of Halloween collectible - and you'll be doing a good deed as well - helping this site continue to offer a home to artists and their work!

This site is operated completely on donations by its users!
