If you love spooky stories or curious goods...just check out the two newest columns by our very own artists Katie O'Donnell and Heather Millott. We welcome their every spine-tingling word! And thanks as always to Jan Pierce, artist and author of the Moonhallow Musings column - where we've been avidly following along with her fortune-telling advice, wit and whimsy.

These multi-talented ladies write their own monthly columns here on HalloweenArtists.com and each one is a devilish delight to read!

Holiday Paper Mache "Gingerbread"
Every year hubby, I, and the kids make homemade ornaments for our friends, and family members. This is a long standing favorite and they smell great!

Start by finding a template. You can go to Google Images and search for gingerbread boy or the like. I copy it, adjust the size in Word and then print out several. You want to tape wax paper to the template and lay it flat. Mix Celluclay and then smear it on to the template, take care to stay within the lines. Let the gingerbread "cookie" dry.

Once your "cookies" are dry, you want to make a mixture of 3 parts brown paint, 1 part water and 2 parts pumpkin pie spice. Mix with your fingers, it should be thick but spreadable. Coat one side, let it dry then coat the other. Repeat if necessary. You want it to look like a cut out gingerbread cookie. Let cure for 24 hours. Once they are dry you can decorate them. We set out raisins for a few days so they get nice and hard. You then can use Tacky Glue to adhere the raisins for eyes and/or buttons. Then wrap a bit of tea stained homespun around the neck for a bow tie. We have also used white fabric glue for icing. Finish by drilling small holes in each of the hands and attach rusted wire to make hangers. Enjoy! - submitted by Katie of punkindoodleboofolkart

Holiday Eggnog

6 large eggs
3/4 cup vanilla sugar
1 quart of half and half (or light cream)
1 cup brandy (no tipping back the bottle)
2 cups bourbon or dark rum (maybe just a pinch)
freshly grated nutmeg

Beat the eggs until pale yellow and slightly frothy. Add sugar and half and half, and stir until well blended. Add brandy and bourbon (or dark rum) and stir. Transfer to a large pitcher and refrigerate, at least 3 hours. Pour into a cup and add a sprinkle of nutmeg if desired. - submitted by Heather of Witch Hollow Primitives

Great Grandma Ora Ingraham's Popcorn Balls

1-1 1/2 Cups unpopped popcorn
3 Cups Sugar
1 Cup White Karo Syrup
2/3 Cup Apple Cider Vinegar
1/3 Cup water
1/2 pound Butter
1 Tablespoon Vanilla

Pop Popcorn and set aside.
Boil Sugar, Karo, Vinegar and water to thread stage. (Very important you don't under or over cook thread stage or popcorn balls will not form into balls or will break your teeth)
Remove from heat, add butter and vanilla. Pour on popped popcorn. Gently stir well. Cool slightly and then press into balls. (tip for forming balls, use food service gloves covered with butter- can get gloves from deli counter at most grocery stores)
