MELLISA INGRAHAM

About the Artist:

Adore The Seasons Primitives

I primarily use acrylic paints, canvas, clay, recycled wood and anything that looks like it would make an interesting piece of artwork for most of my creations.

I have taken some art classes as electives during my college education, but the majority of my artistic education has been from my Mother, an oil painter and general crafter.

She was a student of Bob Ross’ Joy of Painting on PBS and consequently so was I (For some reason, Prussian blue is my favorite color name).

My favorite holiday to create primitive artwork is hands down Halloween. I am predominantly Irish; so I think it must be a little bit of Pagan or Druid left in my ancestry.

Growing up I always looked forward to fall and how the neighborhood would decorate for their Spooky guests and to fool old Jack and the Devil. I continue the tradition, creating artwork inspired by the neighbors that welcome children to share some Tricks and Treats.

Christmas is also a beloved season and I energetically get started on Yule projects as soon as I park my broom and wake up on All Saints Day.
