Tree Fungus Art or what I call " NATURE'S CANVAS"
(3 examples shown above) is one of my favorite things to paint
on. They are so unique and no two are ever alike. I try to use
the shape of the piece to determine what I will paint on it. I
often use the lumps and bumps that are common on these pieces to
create rocks, trees, Jack-o-lanterns, etc.
I try to leave as much of the natural wood
showing as possible, as I think this only adds to the beauty of
the art. I grew up on a farm and farm scenes are my favorite
subject to paint on these. They offer a very dimensional surface
to paint on. Some are free standing and some are for wall
decoration.
