"I am always doing
that which I cannot do, in order that I may learn how to do it."

About the Artist:
As the fourth child
of a military officer, I was fortunate to spend many formative
years overseas. Every vacation, we would pile into our V.W.
camper and explore Europe's bounty: art, architecture, culture,
nature. We did not have TV , so we learned to make our own fun.
The fun continues...
My personal gene
pool is well-stocked with artists, actors, writers and
musicians. I have a fine-art and design background, but believe
that the best way to learn art is to make it. I therefore
consider myself, and all working artists, self-taught. I hope to
learn as long as I have breath. During the ten years I taught
art, in the public schools and privately, I felt that I received
as much as I gave.
I am eclectic in my
medium choices. I love drawing, painting, sculpting,
printmaking, collage, and any combinations of same. Also every
other thing not yet learned or tried!
My love of Halloween
was nurtured by my Mother's lack of enthusiasm for it. I was on
my own creating costumes, and I loved it (still do!). My father
and three brothers were instrumental in helping me see that
scary can be fun (I didn't always agree!). Besides figurative
work, I enjoy creating seasonal art. Easter and Christmas are my
other favorites. I accept commissioned work.
I have been married
for 28 years to a contractor/artist. We have three grown
children, all creative in their own wonderful ways.
