HalloweenArtists.com began as an online showcase for our Halloween Artists eBay group HA31. This year's Haunted House (art gallery) features the artists favorite pieces in a fun format for viewers to enjoy. We plan to make our Haunted House an annual event, with it growing bigger and better each year!

HA31 members are provided space automatically as a "free perk" included with their HA31 participation, however, all artists whose main focus is Halloween art are welcome! Artist pages include a gallery of artwork, an artist bio, contact information, and links to the artist's website (if applicable) and/or ebay auctions.

Call for Artists!

HalloweenArtists.com is open to all artists, regardless of level of expertise, medium, technique, race, age or gender. You do not need to be a member of HA31 to showcase your art on HalloweenArtists.com, however, we ask that non-members follow the guidelines below to join.

NON-MEMBER GUIDELINES FOR JOINING:

Artists will need to submit 3 pieces of your art in digital pictures (.jpg preferred) via email along with a brief description of the art, a short artist bio or About Me (a paragraph or two is fine), your current website URL and/or ebay ID (if applicable). If you like, tell us how you found us and don't forget to include your name and contact information! All art submitted for review MUST be your original work, no copies, no store-bought items.

Please put HalloweenArtists.com Request to Join in the Subject line of your email and send it to spook@halloweenartists.com

A selection of our current artists will review your submission and you will be notified by email within 3 days of your acceptance to HalloweenArtists.com. If accepted, you'll get details of your membership in the notification email. It's that easy! And best of all...

We're trying something NEW!

Incredible as it sounds, this site is run entirely by donations. That's right! We charge no commissions, no fee to join, no fee to have your pages and artwork featured here!

We are attempting to operate HalloweenArtists.com solely on an honor system of free-will donations. If you are happy with your membership and appreciate the exposure you and your art receive on our site, the convenience of simply emailing your images and content updates to us and having the high traffic our site provides, just go to our Donations page and Paypal your free-will offering. It can be any amount you please, as often as you please. We have no set rules. As little as a buck, as much as what you would pay for monthly hosting elsewhere...it's your choice!

Of course, there are expenses incurred for hosting this site, maintenance of member pages, design work, bandwidth and storage, not to mention the labor hours of marketing and traffic operations. We gently recommend a donation of $5 to $10 a month but this is only a recommendation, not a requirement! NO ONE will be penalized or excluded for not being able to make a donation. All artists are welcome and any and all donations are GREATLY appreciated!

See our Member FAQs for more information and use our Join Form to sign up! Happy Halloweenies and Enjoy!

Halloween History
The American tradition of "trick-or-treating" probably dates back to the early All Souls' Day parades in England. During the festivities, poor citizens would beg for food and families would give them pastries called "soul cakes" in return for their promise to pray for the family's dead relatives. The distribution of soul cakes was encouraged by the church as a way to replace the ancient practice of leaving food and wine for roaming spirits. The practice, which was referred to as "going a-souling" was eventually taken up by children who would visit the houses in their neighborhood and be given ale, food, and money. More...
